[Article] - "I plan to continue doing shows"
He doesn't regret the adventure of the Olympics in Vancouver. But for now he's up to galas, where is artistic genius is fully expressed. Tonight and tomorrow he will burn the Malley ice rink with Anastacia.
He met with us yesterday in Zurich between two performances of Art On Ice. "This show is wonderful. There's a supercast, the atmosphere is extraordinary and all skaters are delighted to be here. Anastacia? She adds the fire. The audience is ecstatic. It's nice to see that", says Stéphane Lambiel, and happy again in his element, which says "after the Olympics in Vancouver, it feels good to live, to find such beautiful emotions."
About Anastacia with whom you dance on the ice, she said the other day: "You know, I'm a married woman and I was not expecting this so many wonderful love..."
During rehearsals, she gave us a surprise by joining us on the ice. She sang with skates on. It was great. They said it was the remake more, but no! It makes the show amazing. She is super nice and has so much strenght.
Her investment is total.
I think no other artist has invested so much as she does. What happens between us is special. She's not afraid, she's very strong. Anastacia inspires us. We love the show.
In the past, skaters in particular, said they prefered Lausanne instead of Zurich, despite the beauty of Hallenstadion (more theater than ice), that has nothing to do with rink Malley. Is this still the case?
They were warned that in Lausanne there are fewer spectators, but it's very warm. The audience, very close, perhaps saw the event differently. People are always happy to see us. They're waiting. In Lausanne, we are ready to make a big show.
You are about to launch a brand of clothing and accessories with your name. Can you tell us more?
This is a collection of something that is personal for me. Clothes have a style, rather sport chic. They will carry my logo as accessories like caps, gloves, jewelry for the mobile phone, etc... Will it be developed?
Yes, we will develop it, demonstrate and offer other things, but always in the same areas.
On March 11, you are going to USA (Connecticut) to attend an event for couples in ABC's show 'Thin Ice'. This is a first for you...
You could say I'm delighted. I will dance with Shizuka Arakawa - Olympic Champion in Turin in 2006. She choosed me. It's a real honor.
What is the principle of this friendly competition?
Couples will be judged by former skaters and the public. This competition will be broadcasted on television. It means a lot to me.
And your health?
It goes very well. The physio I had met in Toronto at the time I was preparing for Art On Ice. Before the Olympics, I was super well monitored and supported by the Hospital de La Tour, Meyrin. Thanks to everyone who cared about me, I'm healthy, my body is healthy. I'm strengthened.
What way will you give your career? Skate until you compete Europeans in 2011 to be held in Bern?
No. The continuation? This gala will be. My goal this season was to go to the Olympics in Vancouver. I don't regret the adventure. It was worth racing again, to live another Olympics. My future? I plan to continue doing shows.
